2007-08 Bus Schedule

To Barker Road

Barker Road means Pittsford Middle School aka Mt. Pittsford.

  • Follow the same directions as to Harriet Hollister to get onto Thornell Road and stay on it until it ends.
  • Turn right (north) onto W. Bloomfield Rd aka County Road 37.
  • The 1st main left turn is Barker Road; it is a T to the left.
  • Pittsford Middle School is on the left (south) side of Barker Road.
To get to Barker Road from downtown Pittsford, head south on Main St., either take Calkins Rd to Mendon Center Road to Barker Rd (left onto Barker), OR take Rte 64 south to W. Bloomfield Rd to Barker Rd (right onto Barker).

To Bristol Mountain Resort's Summit Nordic Center

The following directions have been updated for the 2007-08 ski season. Three maps are available for reference: The Bristol Mtn Summit Nordic Center brochure, our own overview map of the route starting at FHS, our own directions & overview map of the Co Rd 32/South Hill Rd area and our own close-up map of the County Rd 32 and South Hill Rd intersections.

  1. If you're starting near the center of Pittsford ...
    • Take Route 64 South (Rte 64 is Main St in Pittsford & it is Mendon Rd south of Pittsford),
    • Go to Step 2 of these directions

    OR ... if you're starting at Fairport High School....
    • from the FHS parking lots.... turn left/east onto Ayrault Rd, go to the very end at Rte 31 (Ayrault turns into Aldrich Rd at a sharp bend in the road - keep going until the road ends at Rte 31)
    • turn right/west onto Rte 31 West
    • turn left/south onto Victor-Egypt Rd (Lollypop Farm is on Victor Rd), stay on this road to the end at Rte 96/Main St
    • jog right onto Main St/Rte 96 West in Victor
    • jog left onto Rte 444 - aka Maple Ave
    • stay on Rte 444 until it ends at Buffalo Rd/Rte 64/Rtes 5 & 20
    • turn left/east onto Buffalo Rd/Rte 64/Rtes 5 & 20
    • follow the Rte 64/Rte 20A signs -- that is, turn right/south onto Bristol Valley Rd
    • Stay on Rte 64
    • Go To Step 2 of these directions

  2. At Bristol Center, turn right (head west) onto County Road 32. There is a Sunoco gas station on the right,

  3. As you approach the top of a hill at about the 1.5 mile mark, you will see an intersection. Turn left at this intersection onto South Hill Rd. It turns into a dirt road after 100 yards.

  4. Follow South Hill Road to the very end, about 4.8 miles, look for yellow gates. WARNING #1 - about 3 miles into South Hill Road there is an S bend - approach this with caution. WARNING #2 - After you've been on South Hill Rd forever, it may appear to become a dead end; this is the old bus turn-around - bear left, the yellow gates should be visible at this point.

  5. Drive though the yellow gates; the Nordic Center is 0.2 miles from the gates. You may drop off your equipment at the Summit Nordic Ski Center, but must park off the east side of the road starting between the yellow gates and the Nordic Center. This means your car will off the road and will be facing in the returning-to-Fairport direction. Please do not park in the turn around area.

  6. At the BM Summit Nordic Center, see the "Closed" sign that has a red circle-with-slash-over-a-skier? We think it means don't drive past this point. So far this season, it hasn't meant the Nordic Center or trails are closed.

Make sure you are dressed appropriately for the cold and walking in snow.

NOTE: It is 12 miles by road from the Summit Nordic Center to the front entrance of the Bristol Mountain Ski & Snowboard Resort.



To Harriet Hollister State Park

Refer to the dirctions and map posted on the Section V website at http://www.pittsford.monroe.edu/staffweb/gorbold/maps.htm

  • In Pittsford, get onto Thornell Road heading south & west and stay on it until it ends. You will be across the street from the Denise Reservoir.
  • Turn left (south) onto W. Bloomfield Rd. aka County Road 37.
  • Basically keep going straight for 25 miles or so until you are in the woods and you see a parking lot on your left with a bunch of school busses in it.
  • Park on the east side of the road (the side the parking lot is on). Please do not park in the lot.
Note that County Rd 37 veers sharply to the right/west at a T intersection with a church on your left (This is toward the bottom of the Section V map where it looks like stick-figure legs). This is where you stop taking Co. Rd 37. Keep going straight ahead, keeping that church on your left, not behind you!

To the HFL Ski sale (November)

The annual HFL Ski sale is held at the HFL Middle School at 619 Quaker Meeting House Rd in Honeoye Falls, NY. (Google map)

Or use these directions - a bit longer than Google Maps, but fewer turns

  • Go to Pittsford & pick up Rte 64 South (go to downtown/4 corners of Pittsford, head south on Main St. & watch for signs for Rte 64 South)
  • stay on Rte 64 South past the intersection with Rte 251 - go about 2 to 2.5 miles past this intersection
  • turn right onto Boughton Hill Rd. - go ~ 3.5 miles
  • turn left onto Quaker Meeting House Rd. Go ~ 1/2 mile
