Back in March of this year students of Fairport High School dealt with the loss of a friend and classmate.
Saturday, those students honored Natalie Giambattista. The girl lost her battle with cancer back in March. Classmates want to make sure Natalie's legacy lives on. That's why they hosted a 3-mile walk at Fairport High. The event raised money for a scholarship fund to be setup in Natalie’s name.
"The scholarship is going to go to a girl that's like Natalie that was involved in music and sports, like a great and caring person, always had a smile on her face," said Emily Olson, student organizer.
Natalie Giambattista was a member of the track team at Fairport. Her teammates thought the walk would be a fitting tribute to their friend.
